Experience something unforgettable at the Valencia Marathon in Spain! With its flat course, it’s perfect for chasing a personal best or taking on your first big international race. Set in a stunning location with a vibrant atmosphere, this journey lets you take on a meaningful challenge with the support of a dedicated team. More than just a race, the Valencia Marathon is a powerful moment to share with a global community of passionate runners.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: MONTREAL – BARCELONA : Meet at Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport in the late afternoon and depart for Barcelona, accompanied by your Contact Amérique tour leader. Dinner and overnight on board.
  • Day 2: BARCELONA - VALENCIA : Arrival in Barcelona, then travel by private coach to Valencia with the group. On the way, enjoy a pleasant stop for lunch in a typical village—an ideal opportunity to taste mediterranean flavors. We will continue the journey to Valencia, where you’ll settle into your accommodation. After dropping off your luggage at the hotel, you'll head to the stadium to pick up your race bibs. Enjoy the rest of the day, dinner on your own, and overnight at the hotel. Lunch included.
  • Day 3: CITY TOUR OF VALENCIA : The morning begins with a guided tour of Valencia’s historic center. Accompanied by a local guide, you'll explore the city’s most iconic landmarks: Plaza de la Virgen, the Cathedral, the Central Market, and the Silk Exchange (La Lonja de la Seda), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s the perfect introduction to the rich history and culture of this captivating city. This first day in Valencia sets the tone before diving into the excitement of the marathon! Enjoy the rest of the day, meals on your own, and overnight at the hotel. Breakfast included.
  • Day 4: FREE DAY - VALENCIA : Enjoy a free day exploring Valencia at your own pace. Your Contact Amérique tour leader will be available to answer any questions you may have. Take full advantage of this day to discover the city as you wish: visit the City of Arts and Sciences, a stunning example of futuristic architecture housing an interactive museum, a planetarium, and one of the largest aquariums in Europe. Walk through the Turia Gardens, a vast green space developed in the old riverbed, ideal for a relaxing walk or a moment of rest. Feeling hungry? Don’t miss the chance to try an authentic Valencian paella at one of the city’s traditional restaurants. In the evening, enjoy a buffet dinner featuring a wide selection of pastas, salads, and desserts. Overnight at the hotel. Breakfast and dinner included.
  • Day 5: VALENCIA MARATHON : It’s the big day! Today, Valencia comes alive with the colours of the Marathon. Get ready to experience a day full of emotions in the heart of this vibrant city. The adrenaline is running high as you set off on an exceptional path. Known for its speed and diverse landscapes, the marathon will take you through the wonders of Valencia: from wide modern boulevards to charming historic streets, stunning green spaces, and the spectacular City of Arts and Sciences, which marks the triumphant finish line. The entire city is celebrating, with a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, and spectators from around the world come together to cheer on this major sporting event. A shuttle service will take you to the start line and back to your hotel after the marathon. In the evening, enjoy an exclusive cocktail with your group to celebrate your achievement! Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel. Breakfast and cocktail included. Distance: 42 km
  • Day 6: VALENCIA - BARCELONA : After the excitement of the marathon, it’s time to continue your Spanish adventure. This morning, you'll take a private transfer to Barcelona, one of the most captivating cities in Europe, where art, culture, and the Mediterranean meet (+/- 3.5 hrs). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy a lunch (included). In the afternoon, meet your guide to start exploring this vibrant city. They will take you to iconic locations in Barcelona, such as the Gothic Quarter with its mysterious alleyways, or Plaça de Catalunya, the city’s heart. You'll also have the chance to explore the Eixample district, famous for its modernist buildings and unique urban design. Stroll along the famous Avenida de la Rambla, the lively street leading to the port, or take a break at the Boquería Market, a paradise for food lovers. Dinner is at your leisure, overnight at the hotel. Breakfast and lunch included.
  • Day 7: BARCELONA - MONTREAL : After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Montreal. Breakfast included.

The Challenge Against Cancer program is a series of fundraising travel campaigns to benefit cancer research. It offers its participants the chance to explore the world and surpass themselves through a variety of sporting activities. This unique adventure carries a deeply meaningful purpose, as the funds raised by participants help to make a significant difference to the advancement of cancer research.
